Ascend: Hand of Kul is a out now on the Xbox 360 and was developed by Signal Studios. My task for this game was to rapidly create weapon concept art based on an existing class system. I had two days to research and create all three sets of weapons (and some additional ones not shown). My designs needed to show materials used (using color only) and sets of 'series' or 'brands' that could help with classifications and other gameplay elements. These high-poly 3D concepts were then approved by Signal and used as the base meshes for other artists at Valkyrie Entertainment to begin sculpting the detailed high res meshes in Zbrush. Almost all of my designs made it into the final game.
