Imperium: Galactic War is a MMO space strategy game made by Kabam. One of my primary responsibilities was developing and then documenting a rendering, compositing and texturing pipeline for Kabam that could be used to replicate my work for Imperium and other games. I textured, rendered out and composited the final assets of over 45-50 buildings and 27 starships. This included lighting FX, other VFX, vapor trails, engine glows, and all animations for every asset. These 3D elements were all rendered into 2D sprite sheets for implementation into the game.
Assorted Buildings - Many of the buildings shown here had additional tiers for level progression. I textured, lit, created materials, animated, rendered, composited and in many cases made FX for close to 50 buildings. Many of them needed additional modeling work.
Star Dock - Here is a breakdown of the renders needed for the compositing of the Star Dock. All renders and animations were done in 3DS Max, composited in Photoshop and then built into sprite sheets and .xml using Texture Packer. Initial model by Kabam.
Various Armadas - Below are production images from Kabam of the ships I created using my custom pipeline. There were a total of four armadas, one has not been released. Each ship had to be rendered and composited in a 360 degree arc (36 frames with approximately 12 render passes each) so that they could be shown to animate in the game. Initial modeling by Kabam.
