Sorcery is a 3rd person adventure game for the Playstation 3 that requires the Move Motion Controller. The game was developed by The Workshop using the Unreal Engine 3. My primary responsibilities on Sorcery included world building, small prop placement, FX and atmospherics placement, and lighting in addition to general asset creation, implementation and material creation. Furthermore, I had to organize and optimize levels for specific performance benchmarks which I tested on a Playstation 3 development kit. I worked on four levels total. I imported and created materials, collision, and lightmap UVs for all assets I was responsible for.
Ordale - My largest tasks on this level involved building the actual level and organizing it for proper streaming in the engine and then lighting it. I developed some little stories for certain areas and set up lighting to help the player navigate through the level and draw the eye to points of interest. I also placed some of the FX around the map. Some of my other responsibilities on this level was designing and creating all of the fish market assets and creating some of the modular elements specific to this level. Several artist contributed to this level.
Endless Stair, Lochbarrow Section - My primary task for this level was to do all of the lighting and FX placement including fog, torches, slime, etc. and organize the level to properly stream in the Unreal Engine. I also set up some UE3 post effects for this area and tweaked all the lightmaps.
Slumbering Palace - On this level, I assisted our Lead Lighting Artist in lighting the level. I also modeled and textured some of the large exterior architectural elements, interior architecture and various props.
